User's Comments of GoodShort
I'm giving this app 5 stars because I want the reward points offered within the app. It doesn't actually deserve that many. I've continued to see ads stating that, for a limited time, you can watch all episodes for free. That's a lie! You can watch all episodes for free *if* you subscribe on a weekly or annual basis. The annual fee is less expensive, but that is technically *not* free. For the majority of the short-form content, the acting is over-the-top—though entertaining in a cheesy sort of way. The plots are predictable and full of generic tropes.
I am loving the dramas—however, I do wish the advertising for this app wasn't quite as misleading as I feel it is. Other apps allow you to watch episodes by simply playing an ad, and they impose the exact same limitations regarding the maximum number of ads you can watch per day. When I downloaded this app, I (naturally) expected there to be ads, but I didn't expect the limitations; after all, the ad campaign claimed that neither a membership nor purchasing "coins" was required. So, imagine my surprise when I finished an episode and was presented with payment options instead of the prompt to watch an ad. That's when the limitations kicked in.
I enjoyed using the app, but unfortunately, the pricing is absolutely—and I mean *ridiculously*—expensive. It only allows me to watch a few episodes (specifically 7) per day; if I want to watch more than that, it offers a subscription plan costing $26.99 *per week*. That is far more expensive than Netflix, Disney+, or Crave—all of which charge a similar price for an entire *month* of service. The same issue applies to Dramabox and other similar apps; they all seem to offer a weekly rate of $26.99. Like, seriously? That is just too much. The only reason I'm here leaving a review is to give it 5 stars so I can earn the associated rewards.
