Highlights
The messaging suite includes SMS for text communication and MMS for media transmission, with photo sharing integrated natively into the system. Group messaging extends conversations beyond two-person exchanges, allowing multiple contacts to participate simultaneously.
Users can place and receive calls using their assigned phone number. WiFi calling offers an alternative to traditional cellular calling, conducting voice conversations through internet connections. This option benefits users with poor cellular coverage or those relying primarily on WiFi connectivity. SMS and MMS messaging operate across both WiFi and mobile networks, ensuring users can send and receive text and media regardless of available connectivity.
International calling extends the platform's capabilities through a credits-based payment model. Users purchase credits toward international calls, avoiding standard per-minute charges typical of cellular carriers. Credits remain available until used, and additional credits can be purchased as needed. International calling is entirely optional—users who don't place such calls incur no charges, and domestic messaging and calling operate at no cost regardless of credit balance.
Multi-device access allows the same account and phone number to be used across smartphones and tablets. Users can check messages on their tablet or place calls from either device, with contacts and message history synchronizing to enable seamless conversation continuation across devices.
User comments
I’m giving TextPlus 5 stars because overall it’s a really useful app and I like being able to text and stay connected. But I do get frustrated sometimes because it doesn’t always let me send messages or it glitches and delays sending. If that could be improved, it would be perfect.
works amazingly EDIT: Yes, there is more I would like to add, I would like to let others know that literally no other text app has quick and instant fast OTA verification, extremely clear calling, instant text speeds, and even more! The team behind this app, to me, is about as disciplined as the military in achieving their goals!. keep it all up tP+ team
perfect only problem I have is that they limited the amount of calls you can make for the day even when you subscribed I hate that about it otherwise it perfect
GREAT PHONE ALTERNATIVE FOR:
anyone needing a free second number for work / privacy to send text messages and call
seniors
travelers to and from the US
Heavy text, message senders
anyone looking to save money on cell telephone bills
Conclusion
textPlus Free Text + Call offers a practical, accessible solution for free or low-cost communication. Its combination of texting, calling, voicemail, and additional features makes it suitable for students, travelers, or anyone needing a secondary phone number. While minor interruptions like ads or occasional network issues occur, they do not significantly reduce the app’s overall usability or reliability for everyday communication needs.
