So first of all, this app has a lot of interface problems. Notifications that don't lead anywhere, numbers indicating missed messages but there's nothing there. Having to leave a chat and re-enter it to see messages. Taking forever to scroll back up to old messages. But I have actually found people here. I don't know where these conversations will take me, but I'm having them with real people. It works with the ads, even if they are annoying. I ended up paying $30. Worth it!
So far, I have had more real conversations than anywhere else. On most apps, anytime you start a new conversation, you practically get a pre-recorded message. The same questions, at the same time during the conversation. Bots these days are awful. Then there are the ones where you speak with an AI. Here, I have had the freedom to (so far) choose if I want to pay for the service. Sure, for the free version, you will get the occasional ad. But it isn't that bad. It is what it is.
Overall I like the Mingle2 app. What I don't like is when people like my profile, then they remove their picture so you can't match with them, then they add the picture back again. Like when I don't have a profile picture, I can't like profiles or chat with anyone, so the rules that apply to me must apply to everyone else.
